Overall rating: 3.5 stars Rice rolls have always been my favorite dim sum dish ever since I was a kid. Out of all the rice rolls I've tried, these are probably among the silkiest I've ever had. I think what ruined it for me though was that they didn't add nearly enough sauce to coat an entire serving. It looks super saucy when you get it, but seems like they just dump it right on top. When you mix everything in, the rice rolls end up quickly absorbing the rest and the majority of the serving ends up dry. Would still recommend this place to others, but only if you ask for extra sauce. Not sure if they charge extra though but I would say it's worth paying for! I would definitely prefer if they just included more sauce to begin with, even if it means increasing the price a bit. I tried the shrimp and bbq pork flavors, as well as my friend's dried shrimp and they were all tasty!

I absolutely love cheung fun, and whenever I see a new spot that I haven't tried, its automatically on my schedule! Fu Yuan was that new spot that caught my eye, and luckily it was near the area where we were doing a food tour! Just a few minutes away from the New World Mall, Fu Yuan is just a small storefront in Flushing serving up cheung fun and other bites like fish balls and congee. Pretty affordable prices here and generous portion sizes. I do wish the cheung fun was silkier and more slippery, but maybe we waited too long and they got a bit stuck together. I also wish they had given more sauce on top, which might've helped the cheung fun to not stick together. We got the shrimp cheung fun and I was expecting the full sized shrimp, but instead they were smaller quarter/nickle sized pieces. The containers were really nice quality and perfect for us since we didn't finish all of our food. Overall, I'm still trying to find a cheung fun spot that just blows my mind!

As a devoted fan of cheung fun during traditional dim sum, I owe my introduction to Fu Yuan to my parents, who first brought me here when it opened a few years back. Even then, it was a hit, and it's still bustling today. The cheung fun here is a delight - savory, filling, and reasonably priced. The larger containers are perfect for sharing or for those days when you want to divide and conquer (leftovers, anyone?). If I'm flying solo, I go for the smaller size since the portions are quite generous and cheung fun is inherently filling. My only gripe? I wish they'd be a bit more generous with the sauce and fish balls. They tend to place them on top in those cylinder containers, so you have to embark on a little excavation to get everything nicely mixed. In short, Fu Yuan is a gem for anyone seeking an affordable yet satisfying meal in Flushing. It's a perfect spot to indulge your dim sum cravings without emptying your wallet. 4.5 stars out of 5 :)

Stopped here for a quick snack in Flushing and it did not disappoint! Hidden in a small stand in the wall, Fu Yuan has a bunch of cheap and quick bites. They're most known for their curry fish balls, so you already know that's what we got. At $5, we got the medium size which is honestly big enough to be a meal. It comes out super hot and is super flavorful!
